Director of Strategic Partnerships and Liaison to Strategy 2 - Vision 20/20
Meri-K Appy served as Vice President for Public Education at NFPA from 1989 – 2003, as President of the Home Safety Council from 2003- 2010, and as President of Safe Kids USA until December 2011. Now a national consultant, she is on the Vision 20/20 Executive Committee as Director of Strategic Partnerships and liaison to the Strategy 2 Committee (Education and Outreach). Appy is also Project Manager for Sound Off with the Home Fire Safety Patrol, a proven school-based program from the Michigan Public Health Institute that delivers free smoke alarm education/installation to high-
risk Grade 2/3 students and their families.

Dr. Nathan Estrada is a distinguished leader in the fields of clinical development and business growth, currently serving as the Vice President of Growth and Business Continuity at Benefits in Action. With a rich background that includes spearheading the world's most impactful digital fall prevention program at Nymbl Science, Dr. Estrada has dedicated his career to improving the lives of older adults. His innovative approach has positively impacted over 150,000 individuals, resulting in significant health improvements and cost savings.
A seasoned physical therapist with a passion for mentoring, Dr. Estrada's work is underpinned by his commitment to humanitarian principles, as evidenced by his receipt of the prestigious Herbert J. Levy Humanitarian Award. He holds a graduate degree and is recognized for his expertise in strategic partnerships, outcomes assessment, and fundraising.

Peg Paul

Communications Director - Vision 20/20

Peg Paul founded Peg Paul & Associates, a marketing communications agency in 2000. Her team specializes in public safety awareness programs and has been retained for this purpose by some of the leading national safety advocacy groups, trade associations and industries.
Peg has been the communications manager for the Home Fire Sprinkler Coalition since 1997. She has worked with HFSC’s board to develop and implement educational programs for consumers, members of the fire service, the home building industry, water purveyors and other stakeholders. Peg serves on the board of the International Association of Fire Chiefs, Fire Life & Safety Section, NFPA Research Foundation and is a past board member of The Phoenix Society for Burn Survivors. Peg is the recipient of the 2023 CFSI/IFSTA Dr. Anne W. Phillips Award for Leadership in Fire Safety Education and the 2014 American Fire Sprinkler Association Fire Sprinkler Advocate of the Year.
